6 eggs 4 cups milk 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla
Separate eggs into whites and yolks. Mix sugar and egg yolks well. Heat milk to almost boiling and then add milk very slowly to the egg yolk mixture. Beat egg whites until they begin to get fluffy and then incorporate vanilla. Add the egg white mixture to the egg yolk mixture and then pour into a buttered oven safe dish. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Check for doneness with a knife in the center of the custard. |
