2 pounds beets water for boiling 1 tablespoon salt
Heat water in a large stock pot and add salt. Peel and wash beets really well to avoid grit in the final product. Cook small beets for 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Larger beets will require several hours to cook. Beets may be chopped into smaller pieces so they will cook faster. When beets are tender, remove from water and serve with butter and sugar. |
