Cooked Red Cabbage Recipe 

2 pounds red cabbage heads
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup lemon juice
water for boiling

Cut cabbage heads into quarters and place in pot of salted boiling water.  Cook for 15 to 20 minutes and then drain.  Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent discoloration of the cabbage.
