1 c milk (lukewarm) 1/8 c sugar 1/8 c butter 1/2 tsp salt 1 pkg yeast 1/4 c water 3 c rye flour 3/4 c whole wheat flour
Add yeast to water and set to the side. Combine all other ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add yeast mixture and mix well. Knead dough 6 times on floured surface. Allow dough to rise one hour in a covered bowl. Knead again six more times. Shape into rounded loaf and place on baking sheet. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and allow to rise until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until done. |
