2 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1 full stick margarine or butter 3 tablespoons cocoa powder 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup water 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 tablespoon baking soda 2 eggs, beaten
Sift together flour and sugar. Heat and mix together butter, cocoa, oil and water in a saucepan over low heat. Continue to heat until mixture gets thick and boils. Pour the heated mixture over the combined flour and sugar and stir until a batter is formed. Pour this buttermilk brownie batter into a greased cake pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Check center for doneness. Bake an additional five minutes if needed. |
