Pan Dulce Recipe 

1 package instant yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees)
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons shortening
2 eggs
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter

Mix water, yeast, and water.  Set aside to activate yeast.  Combine all other ingredients and mix well to incorporate.  Add yeast.  Stir well.  Cover and let rise until almost doubled in size.  Take dough and knead on floured surface 6 to 8 times and then let rise again until doubled in size.  After dough has doubled in size, separate into 10 to 12 individual pieces and place on oiled baking sheet.  Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown on bottom.  Brush top of pan Dulce with melted butter and sprinkle mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon.
