1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 beaten eggs
5 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
Add sugar to shortening and cream well. Add milk and vanilla to eggs. Mix all dry ingredients well and begin to alternate incorporating the liquid ingredients while mixing. Continue until a dough is formed. Chill dough in the fridge for at least an hour. Roll dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut dough with any cookie cutter. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
