Rub seasonings into turkey skin. Place turkey in electric or wood fired smoker and follow manufacturer's directions for smoking turkey. Ensure that turkey's internal temperature has reached 170 to 180 degrees before serving. Smoking a turkey with fruitwood chips, such as apple wood, adds a nice fruity flavor to the meat. You can also use mesquite as a good smoking alternative. |
