1 pkg active yeast 1/4 c brown sugar 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp shortening 1 1/2 c milk 1/2 c water 1 1/2 c soy flour 4 1/2 c whole wheat flour
Add yeast to warm water and set aside. Combine remaining ingredients. Add yeast mixture. Knead dough by hand 5 to 6 times. Place dough in greased glass bowl and let rise for 1 hour. Cover bowl with clean kitchen towel. Turn out dough onto floured surface and knead twice more. Return dough to bowl and let rise until doubled in size. Make into 2 separate loaves. Place dough into an oiled bread pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes. |
